Editing and Writing Services

Editing is Important!

Make your book the best it can be! Savvy authors have long realized that for their books to be viewed, reviewed and ultimately to sell with optimal success, they must be edited. A "clean" book is more likely to impress potential readers and reviewers. Even the best writers overlook errors, but readers don't have to see them. Our copyediting services give you the support a self-publishing author needs, allowing you to focus on your writing while having the confidence that we will put the finishing touches to produce a polished, crisp and clean final product.

So, if you want to publish a high-quality book, you simply MUST edit your manuscript. If you plan on publishing your book traditionally by submitting it to a conventional publisher or to an agent, you should have it edited before you submit it. If you plan to self-publish your book, you also should have it edited. No one will take your book seriously if it is riddled with errors. We have worked with professional editors who have written books. We edit their books because they know that they are just too close to the content to be able to give it an objective review. They understand that it needs to be seen by fresh and objective eyes.

You book is your legacy!

Our editors have extensive experience in the book publishing industry. With the help of our professional editing service providers, you will enhance the quality of your final product—a book manuscript ready for publishing and ultimately, readership. All of our services are performed in-house, we never sub-contract for any of our services. So, whether you plan to self-publish with us or with some other company, or go the traditional route, your book needs to be edited.

Note: Some publishing companies charge authors for copyediting when what they're really getting is only a cursory proofreading. Our copyediting service offers line-by-line scrutiny and we check for much more than we do when we perform a simple proofreading. If you're shopping around for editing services, make sure you're "comparing apples with apples." Also know that a typical page when it comes to pricing consists of 250 words. If you want us to charge you by the page instead of the word, let us know and we will be happy to do so.

We will also check for redundancies, syntax, sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, choice of words, and style.

  • Starting at 1.5¢ per word. Minimum $30.

Rewriting

Rewriting can improve your manuscript!

Also known as "book doctoring" or "book CPR." Everything described in the copyediting editing level, but with more extensive reworking and rewriting of your original manuscript.

  • Starting at 3¢ per word. Minimum $35.

Ghostwriting

We can ghostwrite your book

Do you have a great idea for a book, but would prefer an experienced and knowledgeable ghostwriter to take care of the writing process itself? You can count on our award-winning publishing and ghost writing services to help you create the book that you want. Many books that are written today are actually ghostwritten. White Cottage Publishing Company editors and ghostwriters produce the manuscript based on either a raw manuscript, rough draft, notes, concepts, audio tapes, telephone conversations, face-to-face interviews, printed information or other materials provided by you. Of course, any work we do in your behalf is owned by you. Contact us for a quote.
